Previously the only LED Ring light available on eBay and Amazon was the 352 LED Ring light (as seen here). The 352 is a very bright light with good diffusion, but only dims down to about 40-50 percent. Basically, it's always pretty bright so it could be offensive when used directly towards a subject in low lighting - i.e. Weddings.

Now the Falcon Eyes 240 LED ring light is available on eBay. Of course a bit cheaper than the 352 with it's smaller size, but it does come with a few extra items the 352 doesn't have. First off the 240 looks like it has a better mounting bracket. I threw the 352 bracket away, it was pretty useless. It also looks like a much better form factor and casing than the 352. The 240 also comes with a tungsten colored filter, a battery pack which can be powered with (12) AA batteries OR (2) Sony NP-F750 camcorder batteries, and a travel bag.

I know this light has been around for a while, but this is the first time i've seen it on eBay. I can't seem to locate any reviews to see how well it dims down. If you've got some information on this light leave some comments. You can find the new 240 LED ring light available here.

Not sure how many people remember the 240 Bi-Color Dimmable LED Video light I posted about a short while back. It was a mysterious 240 LED light that showed up on eBay, and the moment I posted about it, it disappeared. Never to be heard from again. Well these 240 LED lights are back online, and now with some new options. My original 240 LED light from eBay did not come with a way to power it up. Luckily I had the correct Sony battery and charger from another set of lights. This was a huge deal breaker for some that didn't use Sony batteries in their work flow.

This time the 240 LED light comes with or or without barndoors ($6 dollars cheaper without). They come standard with a Magenta (minus green) filter and a metal hotshoe ball mount. You can power the 240 LED light with a single Sony NPF style battery, or a Panasonic with an included adapter. One thing that grabbed my attention was a very very cool AA battery adapter case that turns 6 AA batteries into a Sony NPF style battery. Deal breaker no more!

I've never posted such an adapter thing on this blog, but damn I sure did need something like this! A battery case like this can be used to power any other NPF accessory like some external monitors, the 277, the 312 LED, and more. To my knowledge (and i've seen quite a bit), these are the cheapest color changing LED video lights today. As usual, it's on the blog today, we'll see how long they last..

Sucks posting this article, especially since the unit is not available for the same price (right now). I posted something about this new light hitting the market a few days ago, and of course it sold out fast. It was the first time a BI-Color Adjustable LED light was available for the price. Hopefully they'll get them back on the market ASAP, because this light makes balancing fill light color so easy. Don't worry i'm on top of this so if I find out updates, i'll get it on this blog for ya'. If you want to check out the original post for these light you can find it HERE.

Fresh new LED Video light hits the market for on camera use. This one looks like a winner, and a first for color changing dimmable LED video lights at this price. Look closely and you'll see a familiar build similar to the makers of the popular 126 LED video light that changed everything. The Magenta (minus green) and clear diffuser filters look very similar to the latest 600, 900, and 1200 LED video lights also made by the same company as the 126 LED.

This time around they're throwing in a 240 LED Dimmable video light with Color Changing knobs. If you don't know how this works, check out this article: http://cheesycam.com/color-changing-variable-color-led-video-lights/

The only other color changing for 'On Camera' use are the 312 LED Color Changing Dimmable Video Lights, which look damn good, but run more than twice this price. Of course for the lower price this new 240 LED Video light does not include the popular Sony or Panasonic camcorder batteries required to power, and also doesn't have a port for external power adapters.

Still don't think you're getting a deal on the price? Check out what looks to be the exact same LED video light found here.

For the price, the new Color Changing features, and coming from a company who's recently been releasing some of the most popular LED lights for the budget filmmaker, it sounds like a great buy. Unfortunately they are fairly new and limited supply at this time.
