If you're looking to do Timelapse with the GH2, there's a few options for remotes (none as cheap as the ones available for Canon). Vimeo member Olivia writes in showing the Pixel Intervalometer (a.k.a Timer Remote) in action. Seems to do the job pretty well firing off the camera at whatever chosen interval setting. Not sure what's going on with all those extra menu options such as Delay and Long. The Pixel one she's using is cheapest via Amazon than through eBay, and you can find it below. [Thanks Olivia]
Pixel Timer Remote Control Shutter for Panasonic
Of course i'm always looking for a deal, but unfortunately eBay isn't the place to find a cheap Intervalometer for the GH2 at the moment. There's actually a different model that runs even cheaper than Olivia's, but says only 5 left. Does it work? No reviews on this one just yet, but i'm guessing it works just fine. I might have to grab me one of these.

Muchas gracias for your help. I'm going with the cheapie and I'll share my findings.

Post author@Apostolos - Yes should be pretty standard and should work.

Do you think something like this will work?

The Libec is mucho dallah..., $80! Isn't LANC a common standard? I remember in the videocamera days I had a couple of those made by Manfrotto and Canon, and they worked in both Canon and Sony cameras interchangeably.
Emm
Post author@Apostolos - I have seen this work well with the Libec LANC servo remote. You need the lens that offers servo like zoom, and as far as I know there are only two. Incan test this when I get back. Check the right side of the camera on top corner.

That's great news. Which 14-42 are you referring to, the standard kit lens, the 3.5-5.6? I have a few of those. Any particular controller you might recommend? Thanks a bunch for your wisdom, as always. And I'm assuming it would go to the phone/remote plug that on the same side as the HDMI, plug, where else could it go, after all....
Emm
Post author@Apostolos - Yes! You can use a LANC remote to do servo like zooms, but only with two special panasonic lenses. The 14-42, and 45-150mm.

Hey Emm:
Is there such a thing as a zoom remote controller for the GH2, for Lumix lenses, like the old lanc Zoom controller for video cameras? I want to put a GH2 up on a jib and I wonder if there is a way to control the zoom of a Lumix lens remotely.

Hey Jim,
Could you post a link of this $17 timer remote? I found one with the same price tag but not sure it is compatible with the GH2: https://www.amazon.com/Timer-Remote-Control-RS-60E3-Canon/dp/B003Q9RERY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310595230&sr=8-1
Thanks bud

I just got a timer remote for 17 bucks off amazon. It is pretty basic but works like a charm.
Take a look at one of my first tries: https://www.vimeo.com/20715554
cheers. LOVE THE SITE

I have been using these timers for my canon for a couple of years and they work great!

I got this same remote. I like it so far, I ended up getting cables for the both the 7D and the T2i

This remote is awesome... I have a 2 timelapses using it with my GH2 on my vimeo (if you click my name). I hear that the wireless version also works really good.
