Just a reminder about the 70-200mm F/2.8L IS II USM lens. Possibly the lowest price it's ever been since it's release - an exclusive deal only at B&H Photo which ends today. Cheaper than most used versions on eBay. The direct search results won't give you the full discount, but people are sharing the link below that gives you an extra $100 dollars off the current discount.

Thanks to Aaron for sharing this unique link. A regular search over at B&H website for the Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 IS II lens will return with a $300 dollar discount. By using this secret little link (click here), you'll find a listing which saves you an extra $100 dollars off on top of the $300 dollar discount. Great deal on this popular lens, instant discount (no mail-in rebates), and you don't need to bundle with a Camera purchase. This is an exclusive deal with B&H and only lasts for a few days. [Thanks Aaron]

For a very basic general lens, the Canon EF-S 55-250mm with Image Stabilization is on sale for about one hour from now (or until 100% claimed). I searched around a bit over on eBay, and the new low discounted price is even cheaper than a trying to find a used version. Find it at Amazon's deals while they last (click here).

Canon-FlashLight-KeyChain (3 of 10)

Canon at one point sold these little 300mm/400mm Image Stabilized Lens Replica Keychain LED Flashlights which quickly sold out. I managed to track one down for my random collection. The Flashlight is only about 2" long and 1" wide with a single LED bulb. There are no on/off buttons to manage the flashlight. To turn on/off the flashlight you'll need to turn the lens body which seats the battery connection inside. On the side of the lens is the keyring which includes a Canon charm (opposite side stays 'Image Stabilized').

The little item is now being represented on my backpack.

So random, but a very cool gift idea if you can track 'em down. There's only one spot to find them on eBay (click here)

What can I say? It's simple, it works. As you can see it works on the GH2 perfectly without losing view of the entire LCD. Of course it works on the T3i and 60D. The velcro design and stretchy neoprene means it's adjustable to fit a variety of different cameras or even a variety of different view finders. I'm not sure about applying pressure onto the LCD while it's swiveled outwards, but for anyone that has worked outdoors in bright daylight, it's a good way to keep the function of the swivel LCD while acting as a sunshade / VF. $10 dollar tool that folds flat taking up no extra space in the bag. Heck why not. Found via Amazon (Click here)

Tamron currently has some Mail-in rebates offered on pretty much all of their lenses. One particular lens that might be of interest is Tamron's 17-50mm F/2.8 with VC (image stabilization). A much cheaper alternative if you compare to the equivalent range of Canon's 17-55mm IS which runs just over $1100 dollars. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't think Nikon even offers a lens in this range, with this aperture, that has Image Stabilization. Extremely helpful for those who shoot mostly video to minimize that rolling shutter / jello effect (especially on some early Nikon DSLRs). You can find more Tamron lens rebate information following the link (click here)

Zacuto's introduced a new CheeseStick bar for the Z-EVF that will allow more flexible mounting options. (surprised it wasn't named something like Z-heesestick?) Instead of using the lonely 1/4-20" thread below the Z-EVF, you'll now have a variety of mounting points along the top or the back (depending on how you install the cheesestick). Found below

Hey remember that plastic MatteBox / Sunshade I mentioned about two months ago and said 'Don't do it!'? Still for only about $65 dollars, there were many people who picked up on it and said it served a purpose for what they needed it for (aesthetics?).

Well here we are just 60 days in from it's initial release and now it's received a major price slash, we're talking about half price plus FREE Shipping [Thanks Kenrik]. Some people charge just that on the 15mm clamp alone. I'm still not a fan of the thing, but to each their own. Now you can now find these plastic sunshades through a variety of sellers for the price they were first meant to be released at (click here).

Varavon's latest product is a flip up style ViewFinder called the EX-Solo with models available for all the popular Nikon, Canon 5D / 7D / T2i / 60D, and even small Panasonic GH2 cameras. The ViewFinder attaches using the Tripod base adapter (no sticky frame here), and still provides an access port if you want to mount a quick release. The EX-Solo includes a diopter for those with less than perfect vision and flips up a full 180 degrees when the VF is not in use. The view finder stays put with a few magnets when it's in the closed position. Varavon pricing has always been a bit high, but quality has been top notch in it's other product line. At least it's still cheaper than the high end viewfinders. Looks like they are just getting in stock (click here).
