Minimal, Functional, Versatile, Practical, completely original. I might be a bit distracted lately, not sure if anyone can tell. I've been busy testing out a new prototype I've been working on for several months (6 months ago). I just picked it up yesterday and only a handful of people know what i'm talking about. It's interesting to see their expressions when I show it off, and they all agree that it's going to change the way people think about.......umm...ok said too much. Sorry guys, just a few more tweaks to go and you'll see what it's all about.

Agh, I'm on pins and needles! It better be good for this much hype. I really hope it's either cheap or DIYable, otherwise it might not get much use, no matter how game-changing!
Jan
You can't keep us guessing... let it out!

I'm sure whatever it is it'll be worth looking at. Whether it'll be worth buying well, time will tell but I'm rooting for you dude! Promise you won't slap a ridiculously crazy price on it like those "Z" brothers????
Other than that, take your time and get it right.
Love the suspense. Nice to see a little showmanship! Are you going to shoot a teaser video like Handy did? If so, please make it tongue and cheek and don't take it seriously like they did!
Aberz
Hmmmm
You should pattern it and start producing already
Michael
Any possible time frame on when we could see what it is here Emm? Also do members here get first crack at putting in orders 🙂

Emm,
Im a big believer in karma and for all the good stuff you do for your fanbase you deserve some good in return. I have a great feeling this is going to be very successful. Make sure you patent the idea brother. Good luck!
Emm
Post author@Jeff - Hmm...that sounds like a good idea...but don't think i'll be ready by then. Just know that when other Companies see this, they'll be designing the same thing. And then saying 'Why didn't I think of that?'

The setup I use is the manfrotto shoulder support combined with a handle (I used the one that came with the Zoom h4n), so that I used the camera a bit like a super8 (viewfinder is optional, but I actually find it unnecessary and restricts your movement).I've since replaced the handle with a nifty velbon ultrastick, so I have an emergency monopod. This has worked great for me.
It started to dawn on me how much the setup was starting to resemble a steadicam - I even attached my radio mic receiver near the end of the stick to help distribute the weight. Imagine if a lockable gimble on a steadicam could extend and act as a shoulder support, and add weights to the bottom of the monopod (or maybe move some peripherals down there so you're not carry more weight than you need). It would start to look like a pretty versatile tool.
Unfortunately, as what I imagine would be a "from the ground up" kind of project, my idea is destined to be a futile dream in my hands... 😛
