Rokinon’s Latest 135mm F/2.0 and T/2.2 Cine Lens

In terms of Canon's best Prime Lenses especially for flattering portraits the 135mm F/2.0 at just over $1K is a highly popular focal length. There's a certain aesthetic quality from the 135mm that can't be matched. Now Rokinon is extending their lineup of Cine Lenses and has just recently announced their own 135mm F/2. For video use most people would gladly trade in their auto focus, but the real test of course is to see how people compare the quality of the two. Available for almost every camera mount, the new Rokinon 135mm F/2 or 135mm T/2.2 Cine Lens is available now for pre-order starting at $549.

  1. 135 is my favorite focal length. Initial tests of the lens show it to be a canon 135mm f/2.0 contender. I do though feel a little discomfort in the fact that all Samyang lenses have a bit of a wiggle on Sony E Mount cameras : /

  2. I'm on my second Korean car, I have a Korean phone, I'm considering getting my first Korean camera, the Samsung NX1, so Rokinon is the next step I think. Gangnam style, baby.

@Fabian - Thanks for pointing that out, i've revised the article hopefully to differentiate but F/2.0 is is different than T/2.2. They use the T-Stops reference for their Cine Lens and the F-Stop for their non-cine lens.

There is a mistake in this product announcement, as the Rokinon has a max aperture of t2.2, most likely something that will tip filmmakers towards the Canon…
