CC is Going on Vacation

As some of you might have read, I purchased the GoPro HD Video Camera specifically for underwater use during my vacation (coming in a few weeks). Hopefully i'll do an underwater review video while i'm out there.

Being the gadget geek that I am, I just realized i'm going to need a better camera case to fly with. It's definitely got to be a carry on roller case, i'm not crazy enough to 'Check in' any of my camera gear! Pelican is a top brand for camera cases. This Pelican 1510 case seems awesome, and at the price it's pretty much a no brainer for me. Why did I always associate Pelican as $500 + company? This roller I think will do the job for my travels, and while working gigs around the city.

Very interesting sites and good links.

I just stumbled into this, very interested in starting to use DSLR for video on land and UW myself.

Just saw your holliday note, SORRY DUDE but the GoPro will NOT work under water. I just tested one because it would be such a sweet deal for me to use that for specific UW projects, but it DOESNT focus underwater..........

You will return with blurry footage, I for sure hope you will realize before you have shoot hours and hours. They should absolutely give this information on the webpage, its a major flaw. Its very misleading since they have the waterproof housing for it, I guess thats more for surfers and should be called a splashguard.

    Thats just my 2 cents.

    Best wishes

The 1510 is an excellent case indeed, it is perfect for traveling , you're going to love it. I had one for years but recently sold it with my camera (and then bought a T2i) I love the piece of mind i get from it, the pelicans just feel indestructible and they don't scream out camera case, like those flashy, shiny, vanguard ones. I am looking into a smaller pelican for my new camera. but I am wondering if i should buy another 1510, and why I even sold my original in the first place =) Love your blog man!
