With cameras dropping in size with sensors smaller than your typical full frame from a Canon DSLR, shooters looking for a fast wide lens like Tokina's 11-16mm F/2.8. It's been one of my favorite lenses to use on the BlackMagic 2.5K, BlackMagic 4K, BMPCC, and even Sony's A7s. A must have lens in my book. Now Tokina has taken this lens a step further offering more focal range in the new 11-20mm while still maintaining F/2.8 across. The new lens has been announced for pre-order today and available for pre-order now (here).

Post author@James Ignaz - Announced for 'pre-order' today. Better?? My guess is you couldn't order it in December, let's not get overly sensitive. Are you one of those guys that just hangs out trolling websites all day?

This lens was announced in December of 2014...

I wish for faster zooms and primes but I guess the speedbooster helps for that. Had a Tokina 11-16 which wouldn't infinity focus, sold it, cautious to get another.

Ron, I use the 11-16mm (Nikon Mount) with a Metabones Speedbooster (Nikon G to m43) with great results on my GH4. With the 0.71 focal length reduction it becomes a 8-11mm (16-22 full frame equiv) lens at F2.0! Really nice glass too. So I'm excited to sell my 11-16mm to get the 11-20mm.

Post author@Barry - Yes! But you need a smart adapter to change aperture and switch a7s to crop mode or just use it at 16mm.

Is this a favorite cheap option for a full frame, wide angle lens for the A7s?

Wish they would make their lenses with the m43 mount
