Cheap Padded Backpack for DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus Carrying Case
I posted a snapshot of my latest backpack (top) used to carry around the DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus quadcopter earlier today and since there were a few comments, I decided to post up this video for a closer look. I also show some areas I needed to cut out for my props.
My original bundle came with a Go Professional hard case (highly recommended found here) for traveling, but the hard case was too bulky for just average day to day casual use. The hardcase only has one handle and sometimes you need both hands free (like hiking up a hill). So this backpack allows me to carry all my gear and some extra for around $40 bucks. There's a variety of pricing out there, but they all seem to be the same bag (click here).

Good job on cutting out that are to put your props.
I have a hard case that is pretty cheap and it is big enough to put my Phantom 2 Vision in with the props installed but I would rather have them tucked inside the foam in their own little compartment.
Time for me to get out the serrated steak knife.

Nice find. Has anyone seen a similar case for a 3D Robotics IRIS(+) yet?

Post author@Bob Peak - Awesome to hear! I'm still using mine almost everyday as opposed to the hard case which was quite heavy.

My backpack just arrived. THANK YOU EMM! When you posted the backpack entry, I had been looking for a bag for weeks and just didn't feel good about spending the $200 for a soft pack. You saved me some bucks, and made my marriage smoother.
Thanks,

I was deciding between this and one from dronepacks. ultimately went with the dronepacks one because it came with a slot for props. had I known there was room to cut a prop slot here I probably would have gone for this. the dronepacks bag works great but it's expensive.

This is on my list of things for this year. I'm waiting for the GoPro 4, the 4k version. Is this the one with the zenmuse gimball that you can stick the GoPro on or DJI's own camera? Oh, and how do you monitor your shots. Is there wifi to a smarthphone?

Post author@Andrew - Sounds like you got a beat up one to begin with, but I wouldn't blame the bag. You can't expect this to perform like a hard case.
I've had mine for a while and it's held up great. Of course you don't want to stack anything on this, so for heavy travel I have the hard case too (which I recommend in the article).

I'm sorry but I have this backpack and it's crap. Yes, it's relatively cheap (I got mine for $47) but it's built very cheaply. Mine was shipped in a a plastic bag. The top was pushed in during the shipping and the foam was misshapen. It never regained it's original shape.
It will probably protect your copter during transport if you're carrying it from one place to another but that's about it. I usually support Emm's recommendations but not on this one. It's $47. that was a major waste of my money...
