Above is an example of an unboxing video submitted for the B&H 'unboxing' video contest from YouTube member dangiliana. Pretty self explanatory with very simple requirements.
Another example (above) from Vimeo member Bruce Buck. Fans and customers can capture a short video of a B&H package being unboxed and then share it with their friends. Of course, enter the contest for the chance to win a Canon 5D Mark ll among a few other prizes. I should have a few things coming in soon, and might as well join in. I have a few 'out of the box' (pun intended) unboxing ideas of my own. More information on the B&H Unboxing Video contest can be found following the link (click here).

NextWaveDV has some very informational videos online about HDSLR shooting, and now has plans to offer a new show called Film Scene. Film Scene will be a show that takes scenes from your favorite movies and teaches you how to recreate them on an indie film budget.
Sounds like an interesting show, especially if you're into BTS, How-to, DIY, and Camera Gear. Instead of looking to Kickstarter, they plan to raise money by discounting products in their NextWaveDV Store until December 15th. If you find something of interest, they're offering the readers of this blog an additional 10% off using promo sale code:cheesycam11. You can find more information about their new show and products available in their store at their site (click here).
Now that you know what to expect from future Canon cameras, how's that 5D Mark II looking? The camera itself is about 3 years old and it's held up through some of the worst shooting conditions. Even with all the new cameras out, it still holds it's ground. That's one solid product. For portrait Photographers, this Full Frame (not APS-C) camera has an even longer shelf life with it's 22 megapixel images.
Typical price on the Canon 5D Mark II with 24-105mm F4L IS (one of my favorite lenses) normally run you around $3300 bucks. Today over at Amazon it's on sale for under $2750 + Free shipping for Prime members. The lens alone is worth about $1K. Doesn't look like other websites are carrying this deal. Not quite sure why it's discounted at the moment, but you can find it (click here).
