2011 NAB Coverage with Olivia Speranza

I was able to network with a few friends around the Bay Area and thought it would be fun to just cover NAB2011 together. Besides myself, we had Waylon from Prodigy Studios, Leo from Doubletter Productions, and Roland from Myx.TV. I played camera operator while Myx-Rated television host Olivia Speranza talked to a few of NAB's exhibitors.

We ran into Jared Abrams of WideOpenCamera.com and El SKid over at the Jag35.com booth. It's my first time meeting any of these guys, and they gave us an exclusive first look at their CrossBow Evolution Shoulder Slider Rig.

Ok, it was a joke, we were just having fun over at NAB2011, and that's pretty much how the rest of the trip went. Glad to have finally met everyone in person, great bunch of guys (and gal). Can't wait to do NAB again next year. I'll be posting more product coverage in the next few days as soon as I can coordinate with the rest of the people I was hanging with.

  2. Hey Emm, quick question, will the JuicedLink cage fit the T2i with a battery grip?

Video is hilarious by the way...xD

@Vic Thomas - It's the JuicedLink DIY Brackets. I thought about bringing the Letus Cage, but we wanted to roll pretty light. It's a very simple bracket, but tons of threaded and tapped areas to mount stuff easily. It's also heavily anodized so it looks pretty pro. I used the Power friction arms to get things in the right place. http://cheesycam.com/juicedlink-diy-accessory-brackets/

    Hey Emm,

Great job. Thanks for posting. Keep up the great work.

One question though. What cage were you guys using?

What gear are you using for audio here? I'm doing camera work for a website and I need a wireless mic for street interviews. Thanks

  7. Idiots....Jared is funny, just cracked me up, I just couldn't stop laughing... Just me...Oh well Olivia is beautiful as always. Missed the NAB this year.

    Thanks Emm needed that laugh.

Is that a joke. dosent seem very ideal for a clean smooth sliding shot. Am I wrong? plus to guys to hold it up? ehhhh not worth it. Rather have one guy to have the slider system ready when it is needed. interesting though.

  9. The shoulder slider may be the most expensive rig I've ever seen depending on how you look at it. You have two extra paid crew members, or two free indi-film makers. Hmm...

Two Marshall monitors - one for each eye. I cracked at that LOL. Great job, guys! It's really cool to see the people who made DSLR news info so much fun to read to hang out together and even come up with an entertaining video on the fly.
