Zeus Cage for Sony A7sII and Sony A7rII Cameras

It's been a few days since our fun 'unboxing video, but now here's a little more in-depth look at the design and features of the new Varavon Zeus Cage for the Sony A7sII and Sony A7rII cameras.

The Varavon Zeus Cage is available with one handle (standard model), or two handles (premium model), and an extra handle can be purchased separately. Each handle has a modular design that allows it to rotate in 4 different directions, has two cold shoes built in, dozens of threaded mounting options, and incorporates a 15mm rod clamp.

The Zeus cage itself allows full access to all ports and doors and instead of dedicated HDMI or Audio cable locks, Varavon has designed a modular Cable Clamp that can be attached to any threaded mount on the cage or handles.

    Hey Emm!

Just curious, what baseplate rod system would go with this? Does Varavon have something? If you would go for a 3rd party baseplate rod system, which would go well with this cage? Thanks a lot!

Nice thorough review. I wonder if Varavon has plans to release Zeus cages for other camera models.

@krys - Today's cameras all have focus peaking and histograms and the screens are much better outdoors. The Cineroid also gives me waveforms and supports both HDMI and SDI. Didn't really need to upgrade and I also have the Shogun 4K Recorder / Monitor which has been what I use a lot to get better quality from most cameras. If there was one 'new' EVF I would look into, it might be the SmallHD 502: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1137983-REG/smallhd_smallhd_sidefinder.html

  4. Hey Emm, are the rails that the handles slide onto standard nato like what wooden camera uses? Or are they smaller?
Nice video. My cage is supposed to be here Monday. Looking forward to it.

your post on the cineroid was from 2013.
are there other evf's you work with or is this your main one?/preferred one?
