@steve-o – That version can toggle to UHS-I for devices that support the media. You can get faster read/write speeds. For cameras that only read SDHC it will always be Class 10 rating. DSLR Video Cameras have a bottleneck and can only write so fast, so there’s no advantage there. The advantage would be when you dump the card using a fast reader to your computer.

Please forgive my ignorance, but, is there an advantage to shooting SD over CF on a 5DIII? I need some extra cards but not sure I should be looking at SD’s or CF’s.

@Fotunerox – Mainly just speed ratings. In the past it was about the size of the cards, but they have all caught up.

Can you clarify about Fortunerox’s question? I’m in the same boat. I’m curious about what memory format are you using to shoot on the 5Dm3? I’m upgrading from the T2i and want to know if I can use my class 10 SD card or if I need to invest in a faster CF card for video (not worried about burst stills). Is the SD card fast enough for both All-I and IPB video? Thanks for your help!

@Andy – I have had no issues with my Transcend Class 10 SDHC cards in the 5D Mark III for video. Having a faster card will mainly benefit you when it’s time to download to your computer. Inside the camera, the Transcend is fast enough for the HD video in the 5D Mark III.

@Emm – Thanks for the quick reply. I’m happy to hear that I don’t need to buy all new CF cards. Do you ever shoot in All-I or do you stick with IPB?
