I thought $1 dollar/GB was affordable just a few months ago, but now prices on these Transcend 32GB Class 10 SDHC cards are down even further. These are a main staple of media we use in all of cameras and have been highly reliable. I consistently throw them into any point and shoot camera, camcorder, and even shoot video through the 5D Mark III with these. If you're in the need for new SDHC media, check it out. Currently a Transcend 32GB SDHC Class 10 card will only run you $20 dollar via B&H (Click Here)
Oddly, I looked at this item yesterday and it was out of stock. I guess they just re-listed the inventory this morning so it gives you another chance to grab a few. [Thanks Cameron] Best deal online that I could find currently, and with all these point and shoot cameras and GoPros that i've accumulated, I needed to stock up. Other sizes are also on discount from 4GB, 8GB, and 32GB, but not priced as nicely as the 16GB right now. You can find the Transcend 16GB Class 10 SDHC on sale following the link to Amazon (click here).
These came in just a day late. Luckily I had a few SDHC cards in my Canon SX210 IS and Zoom H4n to fall back on. I was hoping these would arrive for the Music video shoot on the Canon 60D's, but we managed. So I haven't really tested these out yet, but i'll be shooting more fun stuff later this week to see the performance.
Damn, i've been catching Twitter pics and news clips about the Canon 60D in stock and shipping all day today. It's still a very rare find, but I managed to check out a few of my 'secret fishing holes' and it should drop in on Tuesday. Yeah, I tried to get it in earlier, but Jewish holiday they say.
So i'm excited to see how this thing sizes up against it's 'older' siblings. I have another big event out of state that i'll be dragging this thing to, so I stocked up on the 32GB Transcend SDHC Class 10 Cards which is a deal right now.
I also noticed that the Zoom H1 and Tascam DR-08 only come with 2GB microSD cards. At the highest bitrate, i'm getting short of one hour total record time. If this this is going to be useful in a Catholic ceremony it's gotta run at least half a day! I managed to find some Sandisk 8GB microSD Cards for fairly cheap. With 8GB at the highest 96/24 I should be able to get close to 4 hours of total record time.
