Rokinon 14mm Lens Deal

I got up a bit late today and missed out on the Rokinon 85mm Lighting Deal, but not all is lost. Coming up in a few hours is another Lighting Deal for the Rokinon 14mm available in a variety of mounts including Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, and Pentax.

People have been pretty hip to these deals as of late, and the last Rokinon 35mm F/1.4 lens deal sold out in one minute. If you're interested in a wide angle fast aperture lens, be swift and check out the deal that will hit later today via Amazon (Click Here).

How does one find out about these god forsaken deals?! I'm really keen on a samyang lens at these prices heh.

  2. Kills me I missed these. Will there be a post on cheesycam before a sale goes on next time for a samyang? The 24mm price point KILLS me I didn't get it. I would have every lens of samsung except the 14 and 8 if I coulda made those sales.

  3. I have the Rokinon 14mm, and for the price, it's a fine film lens. The difference between 16mm (16-35mm on the 5DII) and 14mm is significant. It practically gives me "aerial" photos when attached to my 12' painter's pole. It's not very sharp as a still lens, but for transitions, I love it!

I was lucky enough to catch the 85mm deal. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I was also around for the 14mm but didn't think it was worth it.

Wait, how do you know that a deal on the 14mm will hit today? I don't see it listed on any of the links you posted. Did it pass?

$199....wow. I've been staring at that lens fooreeeever trying to decide to pull the trigger on it or not.
$199 was definetly a pull the trigger price. :(

@Steven - Yes this is a good focal length for cropped cameras, but on a full frame (5D) is could be very very wide and have a more stylized effect.

Would this be a lens that you could use on a glidecam? I ask because you've mentioned before that it's easier to fly wide angle lenses.
