@peederj - You could pick up a very simple Neoprene Washer with a 1/4 hole through the middle. You can find it at any hardware store.

Very well made and a great deal for $20. One question...the mount area is bare metal. What would you recommend if I needed a rubber non-slip disc between metal and metal? I could fashion something out of one of those jar openers I suppose.

@Lee Mullen - The shipping would cost more than the product itself. If it will be available worldwide, then usually it's carried by other dealers or retailers on that part of the world.

They will not sell to anyone outside the USA which is pretty darn stupid to be honest. How can they get product aweness worldwide??

The adapter didn't break but the 1/4 20 mount on the camera could be torn off of the camera body!

For the time being, I,m using mine with my flip and gopro.

I was thinking like emm said. That is a lot of weight to mange 9 feet up.

I saw on another site when bad things happen to the camera. Imagine all of that weight coming down quickly. Even if u could catch the falling pole, that's is a lot of stress on a 1/4 20 connector.
