More Wieldy Carbon Fiber Stabilizers Available

These things go in and out of stock a few times each week or so. When they do come up, it sells out pretty quick. A few more of these Wieldy stabilizers were listed earlier today. If you're not sure what you're looking at, I have an older article about this stabilizer here: http://cheesycam.com/wieldy-hdv-pro-iron-triangle-carbon-fiber-video-camera-stabilizer/

Additional information, photos, and other video examples of the Carbon Wieldy Stabilizer in use can be seen following the link to the product page via eBay (Click Here).

  1. Finally came in! Shipping to US took ~2 weeks. Even getting it 85% balanced it's amazing how steady the video comes out. Got lots of practice ahead of me on balancing and working it.

The whole shabang was slightly heavier than I anticipated so I think a vest is in my near future.

@impoze - A few things. That Mark II won't be available anytime soon, and it will also be much much more expensive than the current version. I think they are just trying to block sales from the other seller.

I just saw this on his latest auction:

NOTE!!!! The MARK II version may be released in Jan 2013.

so if you consider to wait for the Mark II version (which is expensiver),

you should wait for a while until the version is available, so as to make your final decision. Thanks!

wonder what they are going to change and how much its going to be?

Wieldy Stabilizer: I've moved the underneath bottom plate screws and now I can't get it right. Anyone know how to reset these?

Still debating about getting one of these, probably will buy one because I use the T2I with the Samyang Cine lenses, tokina 11-16mm, and the tamron 17-50mm and they all add a decent amount of weight to the camera (still need a nice telephoto but I just got a cheap $30 vintage nikon lens on ebay so we will see how it is). and this stabilizer should work with it. Would like to get something like the Glidecam but its almost twice the price and im not getting enough jobs to just drop that amount of cash.

@Emm Thanks. I tried adding a flash to the top for weight. Probably made it a little more awkward. Can you suggest a decent reasonably priced baseplate? Here's the link for the Kamerar stabilizer I'm using. http://goo.gl/GG5qP

@Mike, I use the GH2 with an HD1000. It's worked really well for me over the past year with the Oly 9-18mm. The only issue I see is future-proofing as I move on to newer (and likely heavier) cameras and lenses.

oh... I should add. I too had to tighten up the 2 allen screws that attach the stage to the pole platform. I hope this makes sense.

I received mine a few days ago. Shipping was extremely prompt. I would agree with all the reviews I've read thus far. Quality is not quite up to hd4000 standards. However, for the money/quality it's fair.

Sadly, the handle diameter won't work with my glidecam smooth shooter arm and vest. I'm sure I could figure out something. But...

The GH2 will balance out with a heavier lens such as the Tokina 11-16. My goal was to have this for a second camera rig. Anyway, I'm on the fence in regard to keeping it. I was really hopeful to balance the GH2 and 14mm lens combo. But.. as Emm had warned it will require more weight.

@Mike - The GH2 is a very very light camera. That's the main problem. I often suggest people use quick release baseplates and add weights to the top of their GH2 just to make the 'minimum weight' for a stabilizer to work properly. If you want something that can balance the light camera without adding all the extra weights, check out the Skyler, but it's pretty expensive.

I'm looking for a new stabilizer. I bought one that was 80 bucks a while back that was listed here, but I cannot for the life of me balance the dang thing with a gh2 or anything for that matter. If anyone can help that would be fantastic. I forget the name. It was a pretty simple design red with small puck like weights that screwed into the bottom. Thanks.

@Gleb - Yes, sold out again. Keep up with my Twitter, Facebook, or Blog when they go back online.

  13. Having bought the GB2 Gearbox and the PR1 Shoulder Rig from photography&cinema.com plus the VF3 Viewfinder from carryspeed, all of which are excellent, your products and recommendations carry a lot of weight with me.

Do you have any plans to offer a stabilizer of a similar design / functionality to the Wieldy in the next few weeks?
