21Feb Kodak Zi10 HD Video Camera Deal Blast – Just $39.99
Anyone remember those GoPro HD Camera arrays where they line up a dozen HD Video cameras side to side? Anyways, it’s a fun effect but a dozen GoPro HD Cameras will put me into foreclosure. If you’ve had those ideas, check out this deal blast for the Kodak Zi10 HD Video camera. Not listed in the specs of the page, but apparently this Zi10 (like the Zi8) Also has a Microphone Input. Very cool feature you won’t find in most pocket HD cameras. This Kodak Zi10 HD Pocket Video Camera normally runs for $179 dollars (seen here). The deal blast today is offering factory refurbished Zi10s for just $39.99. You could buy like 20 of these and still be less than the price of a Sony NEX7 body. Check it out following the link (click here).

Thanks, Emm! Finally a “B” camera. B-roll footage is vital when it comes time to edit, especially non-rehearsed footage. This site rocks!

WHAT an amazing deal! I picked up two. One as a backup and one as a C cam . I was going to buy a go pro but now I can get 2 of these and the audio recorder I need for the same price! This site is awesome, thanks for all the good tips and reviews. Bought a lot of gear in confidence because of this site!

@Jon Tirrell – Yeah I grabbed the deal too. I was always very impressed with the Kodak Zi8 camera, and for this price, I’m not afraid to really beat this thing up for certain projects. If it breaks, not so much a loss like my Sony HX9V or S100. Heck, even take it underwater in one of those cheap bags…

I grabbed one of these too – thanks for the link!

I still use our Zi8 all the time, and it goes everywhere with my wife. Even my 2 year old knows how to use it to take photos and video. This is a great deal.

Nice find. Picked one up as a ‘C’ cam for Music video shoots.

I grabbed one too. I already have a Zi8 I carry around with me all the time, just for random footage. Have been looking at the GoPro’s but for this price I can even duct tape the Zi10 to whatever I want, without worrying. Thanks for the link and providing a great resource with the website.

Another nice thing about these little pocket camera’s, other than being great for wide-shot/b-roll camera’s, is that they have an AC power cord!

I love the fact that it has a Mic In port. Nice for on demand interviews / BTS, Picked up 2. Thanks Emm.

Love the Zi8 so t= I picked up two 10’s. Along with the two Zx1’s I have that’s a total of 5 pocket cams. Now to get a faster computer to edit all this footage.
Off topic:
What’s everyone editing on? My five year old iMac isn’t cutting anymore and I’m debating on the waiting for the refresh or going PC.

Nicholas, use Lightworks if you’re going PC. It’s a little known industry standard that was used for some Hollywood films.

Picked up one of these to get in car shots of gauges. Hard to position a DSLR for this and since gauges are backlit it should work pretty well!

The price is 59. Do you have another link with 39?
February 22nd, 2012 at 1:11 pm
One day later and the price has gone up 50% to $59.99.
February 22nd, 2012 at 1:50 pm
@alexandru – You missed the deal, but actually $59 is not too bad either.

How would you sync those up to do that effect?
February 22nd, 2012 at 10:46 pm
@Apostolos – Lots of layers and single frames.
February 23rd, 2012 at 11:13 pm
I actually meant how you would you sync all the cameras together. Because I’ve seen this effect done with DSLRs. But this is only a video camera so you’re saying run all the cameras shooting video and then pick frames and sync them in post?
February 24th, 2012 at 5:02 am
@Apostolos – Yes, the video technique has been done several times and that’s how the GoPro footage was done also. Here’s another one that was done by using video (not photos) http://vimeo.com/21555811.

Just wanted to update everyone that I received the two Kodak’s in the mail today.

@Nicholas – Very cool. Can’t wait to get my set in.

Attention: I received both of mine and they both worked for about 3 hours My girl shot my son at the aquarium for 14:28 when it just froze and would not even shut off, we thought it was the battery, I had mine in my jacket pocket and we shot for another 2 hours, a total about 25 minutes.
5 minutes here 2 minutes there and mine froze the same way too… I never bothered testing out the batteries from one unit to the other but figured it could be not well charged since we charged them for about 4 hours each…
we get home and they charging light wont light up, swapping batteries does not work… with the AC adapter only and one of them starts up and cuts off about a minute in, the second one wont even turn on, we test with different memory cards same issue.
No Power.
I wrote the seller which took about 2 days to reply and they want me to send it in for a refund not an exchange…
they want to charge me the new $59 if I want the camera.
WTF kind of service is this?
I live literally about 8 minutes away from their shipping location and they wont allow me to bring it in for an exchange neither…
I think this was one of those situation where they were just trying to get rid of all the extra refurbished stuff they have, they saw the spike in sales from Emm’s post and became greedy, but now we see they were up to no good.
Can it be a fault in a small batch? Sure it can but the customer service way of only offering a refund and a new higher charge with a new order if I want a replacement begs to differ… Steer clear.
Notice how they have tons still left and they sell tons of other models too. I was going to go with the waterproof version but I can only imagine the stories they would give me as user induce damage.

I’ve purchased one, and as I’m from Europe i’ve received it only now. And it doesn’t even turn on. Charge doesn’t charge and not doing anything, just a piece of plastic.
