CAME-Action GoPro Gimbal Support LCD and Battery BacPac w/ ND Filter

In my first review I mentioned the CAME-ACTION Gimbal could not mount a GoPro LCD BacPac because of the short screws. But I did mention I believed it was strong enough if we could find longer screws. Because people were asking, here's a demo of the CAME-ACTION GoPro Gimbal (with Encoders) supporting the weight of a GoPro with LCD BacPac and ND Filter.

It still works perfectly and is able to stabilize all this extra weight. Checking the website, there are less than dozen left. Hopefully it's not something that goes out of stock and you have to wait weeks for another batch, so if you're still deciding, this is a great GoPro gimbal and it's possible to support all your GoPro accessories.

How do I update the PID settings for the came action? I am getting micro jitters in all of my footage with a GoPro 4. Thanks!

@Marc - I don't shoot with a GoPro everyday, but this gimbal does everything I need. I can't imagine the get much better over the next few years.

Hi Emm, did you ever manage to get your hands on some longer screws, or are you still managing without? I've been using mine with a Hero2 on occasion and have to resort to rubber bands too. I think the thread size is 1/16 but it's hard to find imperial screws in Australia.

And what are your impressions after 5 months or so? Still getting much use? Reckon you'll still be using it in a year's time?

    Cheers mate

how does it behave with something lighter (adapted smartphone). Or nothing attached at all. Does it work the same way?
    Thank you, Sean

Do you happen to know the size/thread of the screws? Gonna look into getting extended screws to support the battery bacpac.

So which gimbal would you recommend now that you have this one and the z1 ryder? I was considering the z1 ryder for the ability of adding it to the gopro eco system. But this came out and it has the 1/4-20 thread in the handle and it has the encoders, so now I don't know what I want/need.. Any assistance before spending money would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

  7. Any idea why the unit uses 3 batteries but they give you a charger for 2 of them? What is the thought process here? Have you found any replacement chargers and batteries yet for this unit?

Emm - thanks. Seems like someone would have a wireless by now.
    Oh Well.

Seems like that worked pretty well. Did you ever have issues with the wind
overpowering the motors when you were doing car to car stuff on the painters pole?

Is there any way to control pan & tilt while on the painter pole with this gimabal? Some sort of wireless remote or smartphone app would be best... but even a wired remote?

If not this one - some other that is good?

If you have a scale handy, could you give some idea of the total weight of the GoPro with battery, bacpac, and ND filter?
